Dedicated to the memory of Kari Elisabeth Elliott

Kari Elisabeth Elliott was born in Baerum Hospital in Norway on 26th May 1951. Kari, known to many as ‘Liz’ was a much loved mother, sister, auntie and partner, as well as a wonderful friend to many. She will be remembered as a beautiful, free spirited and big hearted woman passionate about people and nature, particularly animals. Kari grew up in Stabekk near Oslo with her older brother Kjell. From 16-19 she was in the Royal Ballet and came to England at 19 before getting a job at The Royal London Veterinary College. Kari went on to marry Paul and have two children, Charleen was at 25 and David at 32.

Something our 'Liz' was particularly proud of and fully enjoyed was a long career at Goldsmiths University as a Senior Technician looking after hordes of students over almost 40 years in the Psychology Department. Here and the communities where she lived Liz would always make friends and have an impact. Other achievements range from rescuing and caring for menagerie of animals such as many dogs, a parrot, a  fly, rats, cockatiels, budgies, a tortoise, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, a fox, a pigeon, doves, stick insects, a pleco and red belly Piranhas, kestrel, barn owls, a bengal eagle owl and cats as well as quite a few people.

Kari was also well known for successfully breeding and then impressively releasing 18 barn owls (then endangered) into the wild. Another rescue adventure was fighting hard and proudly winning to save many large trees at Goldsmiths. There was also years of volunteering for Help The Aged, learning sign language, supporting numerous charities, deeply touching the lives of many with her humour and passion, and doing a wonderful job of raising two children amidst many challenges. She will be sorely missed and forever celebrated 💙
